Slow Cooked Beef
Our in-house chef shows you how to make a hearty and delicious Slow Cooked Beef using braising beef steaks and red wine.

Place a thick base saucepan on the heat. Allow it to get hot, add 1 tbsp. oil and allow it to slightly smoke.
Season beef steaks with salt and pepper and place in pan. Leave to caramelise for 2 minutes.
Flip steaks and leave for another 2 minutes.
Add onion and let is start to caramelise.
Remove steaks and set them aside to rest.
Add remaining oil and diced carrot to onion. Let it caramelize for 5 minutes.
Add red wine to deglaze the pan.
Add bay leaf and let liquid reduce by half.
Pre-heat oven to 160 degrees.
Add red wine gravy and water.
Reduce heat to a simmer and add steaks back into the pan.
Add sprigs of thyme.
Cover pan with a lid or foil and place in pre-heated over for 1 hour.
Serve with creamy mash potato and spring veg.
