Entries have been flowing in for our Parsley Box’s Got Talent competition to showcase our customers’ skills at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

We are sponsoring an edible garden at the world renowned gardening event in September this year and we want to use the space as a platform to smash ageing stereotypes.

Some early entries to inspire you

Gerald Stratford

“My name is Gerald Stratford aged 72 and I am into growing vegetables especially big veg. My partner Elizabeth and I love to make pickles, chutneys and jam with the fruit and veg I grow. Check out our video of us making Piccalilli.”

Fiona Porter

“I’m Fiona and I am 55. My talent is preserving flowers and seed heads from my garden which I dry during the summer months and use to create beautiful dried flower arrangements in the winter months.

“I set up my cut flower business, Cotswold Country Flowers, in January 2017. I work and run my business completely from my home. I grow almost all the flowers from seed and endeavour to ensure a succession throughout the growing season. Gardening has always been tremendously therapeutic for me and I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible.

“I would love to have the opportunity to use The Parsley box Garden at RHS Chelsea to demonstrate how to use dried flowers to create a stunning, colourful door wreath which will last for months.”

Robert Gilbert

“Hi Parsley Box, My name is Robert and I am 68. During the Covid-19 pandemic I had to keep myself creatively busy. I rekindled my love for painting and drawing. I had been a professional designer and later taught art and graphics at Secondary school, but now was the time to do it just for pleasure. I have now produced over 80 pieces of work and I am so pleased I rediscovered the joy of art.”

Michael Sprigg

“Hi my name is Michael Sprigg, I am 74 years young. I make and demonstrate the art of Corn Dolly making. I would love to demonstrate my craft at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.”
