Which celebrities would you invite to dinner?

Whether it is the hugely talented, not to mention flamboyant, Elton John or the national treasure, powerhouse actress Judi Dench, every one of us has at least one person we would love to invite as a dinner guest, share a bottle of wine with and listen to their endless tales.

Who is your dream dinner guest?

Our latest competition asked customers to find the hidden parsley leaf in amongst the Parsley Box magazine articles. Ten lucky winners shared with us their personal favorites from the Parsley Box menu and who they would like to host as a dinner guest. From famous celebrity baker (and heartthrob) Paul Hollywood to detective novelist Dame Agatha Christie, the latest competition winners shared with us their reasons for their guest of choice.

Paul Hollywood

Anthony’s favorite meal is the famous Parsley Box sweet and sour chicken with rice.

The famous Paul Hollywood would be joining Anthony and his wife as their favored dinner guest, says Mr. Corbyn,

“so he could teach us to make bread… and the wife loves his blue eyes.”

Sir David Attenborough

Catherine’s Parsley Pick is the popular beef and mushroom stroganoff followed by the delectable all butter shortbread fingers.

She would dine with David Attenborough and strike up a conversation about his fascinating life.

For The Life of Birds documentary, Sir David travelled a grand total of 256,000 miles in total – the equivalent to touring the world ten times over.

Sean Connery

Robert and Denise McCroy are motor home enthusiasts and recommend the meals to anyone on the go.

They share that the Asian range and the Chicken Korma are always thoroughly enjoyable, preferably in the company of Sean Connery as they are both fans.

Gavin Hastings

Ian looks forward to taking delivery of the Fresh Fishmongers Box. Failing that, the Rose and Violet Creams are a choice sweet following the comforting Beef Bourguignon.

His preferred company to dine with would be Gavin Hastings, ex Scottish rugby player. Ian states,

I have long admired his attitude to the game and how he controlled the fame and success his achievements brought.”

Gavin is arguably one of Scotland’s best players in history and one of the most remarkable players of his generation. In his career, Hastings has won 61 caps for Scotland, 20 of which whilst captain.

Agatha Christie

Christine opted for her favorite, the Bakewell loaf cake  and her unforgettable first-choice meal, the Chicken a la King

As for her chosen dinner guest, Christine shares:

I am not sure whether my dinner guest Agatha Christie would like it, but once we have discussed her murder mystery plots and created new ones, I’m sure she’d enjoy it. Oh, to dream.”

Luciano Pavarotti

Lynn, who orders on behalf of her mum, says the pies and hotpots (and pasta dishes) are favoured by their family.

As for a dining companion, Lynn says:

“I would like to dine with Luciano Pavarotti for his charming aneffusive company and as he would be sure to enjoy the pasta.”
